Details

Giant's Anthem X 29er 1 combines Giant's ALUXX SL-grade aluminum and 29-inch wheels for a combination that'll have you leading the pack. An OverDrive 2 steerer and 15mm through-axle on the 100mm Fox Float fork ensures you'll stay there, too. The precise front end is balanced by 100mm of Maestro-equipped rear travel that sucks up every bump no matter how hard you're charging down the trail. Both your shock and fork have Fox's CTD tech, so your suspension does what you want it to do, when you want it to. On the ride back up, Shimano's 2x10 SLX/XT drivetrain has an 11-36 cassette for plenty of gear range so you can spin the big wheels with tubeless-ready Schwalbe tires. Other awesome components include Shimano SLX brakes, Giant Connect SL controls and a sleek, supportive Fizik Tundra saddle.

Comments:

Best bike I've owned. 29" wheels roll over everything and maintains momentum. Very stable bike cornering, in air, on tight trails, high speed fire roads, everything you throw at it. Benefits from slightly longer fork travel, 115mm. Tubeless tires are great on this bike. Good brakes, shifting, suspension. Easy to keep fork and shock pressures perfect. Get one.

I get the feeling that I am missing a really low gear! Not sure if the 2x10 setup is ideal for me, but generally a fantastic bike. Have had mine for 4 months now, and am enjoying it more and more as i get used to the difference between it and my previous Trance X 26er.

Just raced it at [...], and I can honestly say that I've never felt more confident/competent on an XC bike. It handled everything well. Especially good on fast twisties and downhill. The bike is VERY stable, yet still steers quickly, allowing me to rapidly pick lines and go exactly where I want it to go. Also an excellent climber, with the supple rear suspension delivering excellent traction. THIS BIKE DOES IT ALL EXCEPTIONALLY WELL !!! Very happy with my purchase.

this bike does everything I ask : climbs, descends, handles twisty singletrack, and does it all very well. Suspension is efficient and compliant, yet the frame is stiff laterally. The steering on fast singletrack is intuitive, quick, and stable. Bottom line is that it is just plain FUN to ride !! Weight is about 28# with pedals and tubeless.

This is an incredible bike that has taken everything I throw at it and laughs. This is an upgrade from a 17yr old Schwinn Home Grown full suspension. Riding in the Colorado Mts has become even more fun. Before I was having to focus on my line up and down the mountain trails. Now I just fly over them with complete confidence ! Wish it came in a better color though !

This bike totally changed me, i was getting dis heartened by the fact i couldnt really keep up with my mates on carbon frame bikes and other 29er's, untill the saviour landed. Now they cant keep up with me. True storey. Unbeleivable bike. I have since kicked my wife out of bed and now my bike is there. I LOVE MY GIANT.

Easily took my mountain biking skills to the next level. The Giant X 29er 1 is light, the frame is strong and does not flex at all. It is so much fun to ride this bike. It feels plush and comfortable, yet you can partake in XC races if you have the urge and skill set. Super bike, especially for the price. Congrats, Giant.
